SAVIM Marseille Autumn 2011

What an experience! We would like to thank Mr. Colonna – junior and senior – organisers of the salon, and our fellow exhibitors, for their friendliness and advice. We had very little time to profit from all the produce available in this amazing salon, but we have still managed to come home with some choice morsels. Christmas will be a tasty affair!
Our bright green shirts became a point of reference for just about everyone – there was no danger of losing us in the crowd! and our welcome mat hosted many a convivial moment with people who were happy to discover our history and our wines. We are very pleased that we have been able to introduce a young clientèle to muscat blanc à petits grains, as both muscat sec and vin doux naturel, and to convince the many wine amateurs to look again at a modern presentation of this wonderful cépage.
We congratulate the visitors to the salon for their curiosity, politeness and knowledge – and for buying our wine! It is very encouraging to talk with intelligent young people, who are in the process of becoming the sommeliers, cavistes, restaurateurs and hoteliers of tomorrow, and who are already wine enthusiasts today.

We look forward to our next encounters at SAVIM in spring and autumn 2012. And if you couldn’t make it this autumn, put it in your diary for next year!

Savim d’Automne Marseille – festival des gourmandises

Deux journées superbes de rencontres sympathiques avec nos clients et avec nos confréres exposants. Deux journées restent encore pour venir et profiter de cette ambiance géniale.
Nous étions heureux de recevoir les visites de la lycée hotelier de Marseille et de la lycée Professionel Agricole et Viticole d’Orange

Et nous sommes très fiers d’annoncer que beaucoup de jeunes dégustateurs, ainsi que d’autres plus averties, ont étés enthousiasmés par nos vins.

A Solstice soaking in the South of France

Yes, you may have seen it on the news – the Mediterranean basin is getting a right soaking.
After a summer and autumn of on/off heatwaves and plenty of anguished looking agricultural folk and gardeners, as the soil became more and more parched, mother nature delivered late rain in July and August and now she gives us plenty of the wet stuff again, accompanied by spectacular thunder and lightning displays – and the odd, brief, electricity/telephone/internet cut.
I hope, at least, that it is « the right kind of rain » to refill the huge underground water aquifer that lays beneath this part of Languedoc and serves the region with drinking water and water for commercial use, as well as being a very important part of the ecosystem. Long may it be protected from mega-dump proposals!
I guess we all must have done a rain dance too many, because some of said folk are now anxiously eyeing over-flowing river banks and fragile sand spits that have been once again battered by the waves into virtual non-existence. The old car park at Les Aresquiers beach is now a distant memory – and this year’s effort at a pebble dune has been quickly flattened.
Apart from the odd soggy corner, we are benefitting from good drainage and look on it as helping the young plants in the vines and garden. We have plenty of other tasks to do, when we can’t be in the vineyard.
For those who find themselves already submerged – we wish them courage and the best of luck for a speedy recovery and subsidence of the waters.


Winter is approaching, Christmas is a few short weeks away, it’s the weekend and you are looking for something to do….

A salon of wine makers and gastronomy, all the tempting morsels you could dream of to help you prepare those special (festive) meals and create little or big parcels of gourmet treats for your friends and family.
We will be there, right in the middle of the salon, on stand number i7. Come and say hello! Come and try our wines and we will happily give you suggestions for other gourmet treats to put together with them. Just think, some juicy oysters or thai style mussels washed down with rencontre; a toast of foie gras or a filo pastry bursting with roquefort and walnut to compliment l’hédoniste, a moist dark chocolate and apricot gateaux to bring out the fruit in éclat…. is your mouth watering yet?
How about if we announce that for all our clients who come to SAVIM, there will be a special salon price??
